I SOOO HYPEE, YOU KNOW WHY???? I got my first reposes today on Facebook. It feels good when you write and people give you positive feedback. Since my BOi was first to get to me, I'm gonna do what I said I was gonna do. Make a playlist for him because he told me why he appreciates the music he listens to, he said " I hate most of the mainstream rap and hip-hop music that's out right now. its like they just don't care anymore. most of the rap that i listen to are artist that are underground. they keeps it real......WU-TANG FOREVER" that sounded like a good enough reason to me so I'm gonna make a playlist under the name WU-TANG with all the song he likes.
But listen my readers do not get discouraged because you still have a chance to get your music up. All you gotta do is comment. It would be nice if yall could comment on the website, it would save me some typing, but its cool. JUST KEEP LEAVING COMMENTS!!! FEED MY NEED, SO I CAN WRITE MORE!! Next post is for the ladies so keep a look out for dat.
THIS IS BIG MIKEY YUH DUN KNO ZEET.... PEACE

What Is Music Today??

Do you remember a song that was popular five of six years ago? I recently had to get my laptop fixed, so the only computer I had available was my desktop( mind you, I haven't used this computer since high school). But what I appreciated from this experience was that I was able to look at my first iTunes playlist, and view some old songs that were hot back in the day.
Can anyone remember an artist named Camillionare? Probably some of you had no clue who he is, and there might be some of you who do. Just to jog your memory, Camillionare was known for his FIRST and LAST popular song "Ridin Dirty", the song talks about him being chased by the cops with drugs in the back of his car. Eventually that song made the countdown on BET's 106&Park, I dont think he ever made it to number one.
The sad thing was when I looked at the play count for my old iTunes and I was shocked to see that "Ridin Dirty" was played a wopping 300 times on my computer. I had to look at it again, I was like "huh? That's impossible did I actually like that song?" The reason why I said that was because I didn't know what the hell I was listening to? Did I like the beat or the lyrics? All I know is I damn sure wasn't listening to the Lyrics when I heard this.
The point I'm trying to make is that, most songs today have no lyrical value. It makes you wonder if these artists spend time with their music. Sometimes I listen to the radio and after a while I get bored with it.Also if you're not doin "The Stanky Leg" or shouting out "WOCKA FLOCK FLOCK FLOCKA!" people think there's something wrong with you. In my opinion I feel like those songs were only meant for the club, and you shouldn't be listening to that if you're 30, and trying to get employed. It just doesn't look good for you bro.
Try to have a broad spectrum of music that you'd listen to. I'm not saying that you should listen to things you hate. All I'm saying is listen to something different. When I growing up my parent had me listening to a lot of different genres. My favorite types of music is old school Reggae( popular artists include: Bob Marley,Barrington Levy, Freddy Mcgregor and Beres Hammond), Soca(Machel Montano,Kevin Lyttle, Rupee), and Dancehall (Vybez Kartel, Major Lazer, Benie Man). You would think that because I am of Jamaican decent that's all I listen to. Well, you are incorrect lol. I listen to other music as well, genes like techno, hip-hop, R&B, and sometimes Jazz. My parents had a lot of influence on me did you know my mom like Polka music(Yes! like Steve Urkel) and my dad listens to orchestra music. My parents are of a different breed, but I still love them though.
I challenge you, the next time you put a new song on you're iPod, check the lyrics and find out if that's really what you want blasting in your ears. Believe me it will save you a lot of time when you gotta delete songs.
But hey! we all make mistakes. I might be wrong about Camillionare & WOCKA FLOCKA's message. What I want you to do when you comment is to tell me about you're favorite song and why that particular song's message is important to you. If you gimme a good reason why u like that song I will dedicate a playlist to you.
Also every three weeks I'll be changing my playlist to show you the types of music I like. That's only if I don't get the comments from you before the three week period is up.
